DSC September Kit Mini (A Few Pages)

Ok so I joined this very cool mini kit club DSC and once a month they send out a new mini album kit loaded with beautiful papers and goodies, Septembers kit was 7 Gypsy's Gypsy Market Papers and among the goodies was a Tim Holtz Love ticket that instantly made me think of the relationship between my daughter and youngest son (10 years apart) so from that one little love ticket I decide to make a mini documenting their relationship.
Wouldn't you know that my printer would decide to kick the bucket on me as I went to print out pictures of them to use for this album so I won't have pics in it until this weekend.....grrrrrr! It's a little hard for me making an album without knowing the dimensions of the photos I'll be using in it!
I am very ADD when it comes to working on projects like this, I'll sit down for half an hour and work in it, then get up and do something else for an hour or so and then go back to it so needless to say I only have 3 pages done!!! I wanted to share though so I'm going to go ahead and post those here and then I'll post the rest of my mini this weekend.

Love this cover! I only wish I had some Glimmer Mist so I could have sprayed the flowers :-( I'm going to add a label that says "What Is....." to  go along with the Love ticket.

I am going to journal a bit about their relationship on the journal tag on this page. The embossed image on the pocket says Memories.

A photo of them will go on the tag here.

I am hoping to finish the rest of this album tonight so wish me luck!

Envelope Minis, Slider Cards and Flowers

So I've spent the past week working on a few things here and there. My daughter has a friend who just had a baby and she wanted to make her a little book so we sat down and got to work, I got the idea for the envelope mini from Stephanie -(Steffogal1) who got the idea from Marion. It was a lot of fun to make and I have a feeling I will be using these little envelopes a lot!

I also played around with some flowers that I saw over on Velmas Blog .Velma takes white flowers, inks them and then embosses with Utee. I don't have any white flowers and not a lot of inks either so I just took some color flowers and embossed them with ala modes sparkling emboss powder. I like the way they turned out and the one white flower I had turned out this gorgeous shade of pearl!

I was over at The Scrap Beach today and saw this video that Phoenix made of a mini she made and she had this slider card in it and she provided the link to the tutorial she used so of course I had to try it! The hardest thing about making it was cutting the plastic bag! It kept clinging to my fingers LOL! I will be using this idea a lot in the future, I love it! (You pull the flower on the top and the top and bottom slides out, so cool!)

I am learning so much from all of the blogs I visit, I just don't have enough time in the day to try everything I want to try! There are so many creative people out there!

My Baby & My Baby Daddy AKA Movie Stars!

The 48-Hour Film Project hit Savannah last month! Local film crews sign up to participate and they are given 3 elements that must be used in the film, this year it was a cell phone, the line "She said she would be right back" and a name/character, I think it was Michael or Michelle Murray, they then draw genres of film and are given 48 hours to make a 7 minute long film using those 3 elements and genre. This film was done by Perpombellar Productions and they drew the genre mockumentary. Connor's dad knew a lot of people involved in the film and him and Connor got to be extras, his dad was a vampire and Connor was a civilian. They had a lot of fun and Connor now knows that things in movies are fake! The blood is just corn syrup.  This film won Best Acting, Best Writing, Best Directing and Best Movie and will now be going to the National contest in Vegas!
If you don't like vampire movies please don't watch the clip!

I Love Flowers & Bright Colors!

Looky looky at what my friend Candice made me! I love the dimension on her flowers and this one is going to sit on top of my scrap desk! It's very industrial with that heavy wire rim and thick thread.

Very First Blog Award!

Wow my very first blog award! Thank you so much to Arlene of www.butterflykisseswithlove.blogspot.com/. Arlene is co-owner of a brand spankin new mini kit club that I just joined....love the fact that I get to be a part of something just starting out! Bona of www.keeponscrappin.blogspot.com/ is the other half of the club and if you want more info about it you can check out their kit site here www.deuxshabbychic.blogspot.com/.
Anyhoo Arlene tagged me with this most awesome blog award and part of it is to tell 5 things about myself so here goes. Some quick random facts about me.

1. I love mexican food! Cheese Dip, Salsa and Cheese Enchiladas make my tummy happy! I am a salsa snob and I have been to every mexican, latino restaurant in Savannah! There is this awesome place in HB Cali that I went to called Marios that I will never  forget....it was the bomb diggity! (Meaning Super Yummy!!)

2. I love to write. I write just for the sake of writing, I love to type, I love to text but I really dislike talking on the phone.

3.  I really dislike Pizza. Blah!

4. I am super cranky if I don't have at least 1 hour of quiet alone time each day.

5. I adore my children, they are my everything, they are the greatest love of my life. (Yes they are holding a watergun to my head and forcing me to type that!)

6. Just for the heck of it! I love Pumpkin Spice and Eggnog Lattes from Starbucks and it's almost that time of year again!! I'm so excited!

Now I would like to pass this award on to 5 bloggers and hopefully they will share 5 things about themselves. (If they ever read this hehehe)

There He Goes Just A'walking Down The Street

Singing Do Ah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do.

Reentering The Scrapmosphere & Hoping For A Smooth Landing!

It has really been a long time since I've scrapped, 5 years is a long time, right? Heck Yeah! 5 years ago when I divorced I also divorced my favorite hobby even though it did nothing but bring me joy. I vaguely remember my scrap supplies crying out "I thought you loved me how can you leave me?" I left them high and dry, packed them up and tossed them into a cold, dark closet and that was that. I thought about them once in awhile, wondered how they were doing, thought about inviting them out for coffee after dinner but I quickly pushed the thoughts away.

A few months ago I started thinking about them more frequently, started watching other people with their scrap supplies and how well they treated them, how tenderly they inked, distressed tags, gently tore paper and I realized how much I really did love mine and missed them. I decided to ask them out one night and at first they were reluctant, not wanting to trust me, fearful that I would leave them again. It took a lot of apologizing and coaxing but I finally got them to come out and we had a good time even though we were both nervous.

I finally got up enough courage to ask them to move back in with me and even gave them a little place of their own although not nearly as big or as nice as the room they had so many years ago. We have been slowly getting reacquainted and I am getting a lot of advice and ideas from watching other scrap couples on how to treat them better and try out new, exciting things. I've even gotten my children involved in this new relationship and their love is growing just as mine is.

Dear Scrap Supplies, I promise to never leave or mistreat you again. I love you and hope that you will learn to trust me once again. I know that we are both still a little nervous but with time we will grow more comfortable with one another and have fantastic adventures together!

I wanted to share some recent dates that I've had with my scrap supplies, we decided to invite the kiddos on these dates and a great time was had by all.

Got this idea from chic'n scratch's blog.

Backgrounds & Titles & Stuff Oh My!

I've been struggling for a couple of days now trying to design a background and header that I really liked for this blog and I can't come up with anything that I really really like....ugh! I think I like this one but I need to fine tune it tomorrow but of course I'll end up with something completely different then what I start out with....always.

My kiddos went back to school today! I can't believe that Connor is already in 2nd grade and Lindsay is a Senior! The time is going by so fast that I struggle to keep up with it.

Anyhoo I'm beat so I am off to watch the history channel with Connor until he (or me) falls asleep.
